This is a fantastic opportunity for you to learn from one of the country’s leading dog trainers Randy Chartrand. In this course you will benefit from the knowledge and experience that Randy had acquired over the years working with some of the most difficult dogs imaginable. Randy is a what we call a “Working dog trainer” that means that you will not just sit in a classroom, but you will see how he remarkably turns these dogs around and makes them much better companions.
Once you have learned how to train the dogs, then we begin teaching you how to train owners to train their own dogs. You think training the dog was tough, now we have to develop your talents as a teacher. When you have reached this stage of the course, you will be required to teach a group on your own under supervision of course. Just in case you fall apart Randy will be there to help as your assistant to get you back on track. Sometimes we will use a radio with an earpiece so he can communicate to you while you are teaching.
Everyone asks, “Can I make a living training dogs?” The answer is “Yes, Absolutely!” After spending 15 years in the Canadian military, Randy retired early to train dogs full time and tripled his salary in his first year. Remember though, it all comes down to the individual. If you are driven and are good at what you do, you can and will achieve your goals. Professional Dog Trainer Course Fall 2012
Purpose: This course is designed to train dog trainer candidates in the overall field of canine training and to conduct business as a certified Canadian Canine trainer.
Tuition: $5,000.00 (Plus HST) $1,000.00 Non-Refundable deposit upon registration and balance due on course start date. The cost is based on a maximum of six students.

General: Training will be conducted Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M. (Also some Saturday mornings TBA). Training will be done at the Nepean National Equestrian Park. Each candidate will require one personal dog for training. During the course, all candidates will be assigned one private lesson student, one group class and will be provided one untrained dog to train over a two week period during the course. All training will be done under supervision and the student will be graded on each. For successful completion of this course, the candidate must achieve a minimum of 80 percent on all written and practical exams.
